Christmas Market, Wrocław

Another Christmas is coming and is fast approaching. In December 2009 Wrocław’s market square will shine colourfully and resound with Christmas carols. The 27th of November is the beginning of Christmas market, which has filled in to the winter scenery of the city. In this Christmas time Wrocław becomes a special tourist attraction for guests from all over the country and for tourists from abroad.


„Castles from Sudetes Mountains – history and legends” in Wrocław

More than 100 graphics from XVIII and XIXth century showing most famous castles of Sudetes Mountains can be seen in the Ethnographic Museum in Wrocław.


Autumn Rally of Motorbikes and Vintage Vehicles

The Museum of Industry and Railways in Jaworzyna Śląska invites all tourists for the Autumn Rally of Motorbikes and Vintage Vehicles which starts on the 26th of September 2009. The event is a part of the 100th anniversary celebration of a locomotive shed. The rally starts at 2.30 p.m.


Enigma discovered in Wroclaw….again

On the 1st of September we celebrate 70th anniversary of the beginning of World War II. The Post and Telecommunication Museum in Wroclaw also wants to celebrate this event so there will be presented two exhibitions – “Press informs….1939 – last days of peace” and “Communications during the war”.


The Church of Peace in Świdnica

The Church of Peace has found a quiet place for itself in Swidnica, lying at the feet of the Sudety, on the Swidnicka plain, in the picturesque Bystrzyca Valley.

An exceptionally rich history and intriguing architecture, make their home in one of the most beautiful cities in Silesia. Among them are two examples of sacred architecture which represent the highest level of quality.


Wrocław

Wrocław- the meeting place

Wrocław is forth largest city in Poland and the largest in the west of the country. Its population amounts to over 630 thousand inhabitants, actively engaged in the ci­ty’s life. Lying on the Odra river and its four tributaries it is an extraordinary city of 12 islands and 130 bridges.


Kłodzka Stronghold

Undoubtedly, one of the most popular object in Klodzko is a stronghold overlooking the city, being located on the hill named Stronghold Mountain (Forteczna Gora).

In that place, in the X century, there was a fortified town which goal was to guard the trading route from Czech Republic to Silesia. After some time a castle was built and it has been extended through centuries.

At last, in 1743 when Klodzko belonged to Prussia, a building of a modern stronghold begun and today we can admire this building. The building has lasted for a several dozen years and its stronghold values were appreciated by the defenders during the Second Silesian war, when building of the stronghold was still in progress.
